Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts Poznań

UAP

The University of Arts in Poznań is woven into the very fabric of the city centre, with its buildings clustered around Marcinkowskiego street, close to the Old Market Square and some of Poznań's best cultural venues. Studying here means your campus is essentially the city itself: galleries, concert halls and independent studios are all part of your daily landscape.

Stare Miasto and Jeżyce are natural fits for UAP students. Living on Stare Miasto places you minutes from your faculty buildings and at the centre of Poznań's cultural pulse. Jeżyce offers a different but equally creative energy: a neighbourhood full of independent galleries, vintage shops and artist studios that many art students call home.

Where to live

UAP is in the old town, so Stare Miasto is the obvious choice and Jeżyce the interesting one — galleries, studios and cheap coffee, with a tram ride instead of a walk. Wilda is the third option and the one people pick when they want space to work at home.

Getting to campus

From Stare Miasto most UAP buildings are within walking distance. From Jeżyce a short tram ride or a pleasant bike trip through the city brings you to the faculty in no time.

If you need the lease for a visa

You get a signed lease, in English, before you fly. If your visa application needs proof of accommodation, that is the document you can use — and you can have it weeks before you arrive. We are not visa advisers; check the requirements with your consulate.

When to look for a room

Art students tend to need more from a flat than a bed and a desk — light, floor space, somewhere to leave work drying. Those flats are rarer than ordinary ones.

Start earlier than you think you need to, and say what you need when you write to us.

Common questions

Can I work at home in a shared flat?

It depends on the flat — ask before reserving and we will tell you honestly.

Which district suits art students?

Stare Miasto for the walk, Jeżyce for the atmosphere, Wilda for the space.

Is a room enough, or do I need a whole flat?

If your work needs room, a whole flat is usually the better answer.

How much does a room in UAP cost?

Rooms we currently have published in UAP range from 899 zł–1449 zł per month (9 offers right now). On most room offers that is a single fixed amount with electricity, water and gas included; where bills are metered instead, the listing says so. The deposit and any one-time commission are stated separately on each listing.

How much does a whole flat in UAP cost?

Rent for whole flats currently published in UAP ranges from 1650 zł per month. On top of the rent there is an administrative fee paid to the housing association — we state it separately on every listing, because it can be a significant share of the total. Utilities on a whole flat are normally metered and transferred into the tenant's name.

Can I rent in UAP from abroad, before I arrive?

Yes. You reserve an offer online and sign the lease electronically while still in your home country. The reservation takes the offer off the market while the lease is being signed; its terms and refund rules are set out in the reservation terms. We handle enquiries in Polish and English.
