Adam Mickiewicz University

UAM

Adam Mickiewicz University is one of Poland's largest and most prestigious universities, with a presence spread across several distinct parts of Poznań. Its main humanities buildings sit in the very heart of the city near Stare Miasto, while the Ogrody campus on Szamarzewskiego is nestled in the lively Jeżyce neighbourhood, and the Morasko campus far to the north hosts the natural and exact sciences.

For most UAM students, Jeżyce and Stare Miasto strike the best balance between campus access and quality of life. Jeżyce in particular has become the favourite neighbourhood of Poznań's student crowd: independent cafés, bookshops, green squares and a genuinely local atmosphere make it easy to feel at home. Winogrady is a quieter, more residential option that works especially well if your faculty is out on Morasko.

Where to live
Getting to campus

From Jeżyce and Stare Miasto you can walk or cycle to the central campuses in minutes. The Morasko campus is further north, but the PST rapid tram line connects Winogrady and the city centre to that area efficiently, making the journey comfortable even on early mornings.

If you need the lease for a visa

You get a signed lease, in English, before you fly. If your visa application needs proof of accommodation, that is the document you can use — and you can have it weeks before you arrive. We are not visa advisers; check the requirements with your consulate.

When to look for a room

The academic year starts at the beginning of October, and that date drives everything.

June and July give you the widest choice and the calmest search. If you already have your admission letter, this is when to book.

August is the busiest month: rooms near the central campus and in Jeżyce go first. By September the pickings are thin, and what is left is what nobody wanted — prices do not drop, the choice does.

From October onwards it is still possible, but you will be choosing from what is left and paying for a place you may not love. If your visa or admission decision comes late, tell us — it is a common situation and we can usually work around the dates.

Common questions

How much does a room in UAM cost?

Rooms we currently have published in UAM range from 899 zł–1449 zł per month (9 offers right now). On most room offers that is a single fixed amount with electricity, water and gas included; where bills are metered instead, the listing says so. The deposit and any one-time commission are stated separately on each listing.

How much does a whole flat in UAM cost?

Rent for whole flats currently published in UAM ranges from 1650 zł per month. On top of the rent there is an administrative fee paid to the housing association — we state it separately on every listing, because it can be a significant share of the total. Utilities on a whole flat are normally metered and transferred into the tenant's name.

Can I rent in UAM from abroad, before I arrive?

Yes. You reserve an offer online and sign the lease electronically while still in your home country. The reservation takes the offer off the market while the lease is being signed; its terms and refund rules are set out in the reservation terms. We handle enquiries in Polish and English.

How long can I rent for in UAM?

We rent long-term only, six months or longer — we do not do short stays. The minimum stay for a specific offer is stated on its page, together with the date it becomes available.
